Our fast-track advanced tech CAD course runs twice a year. The course is continuously adapting to suit emerging trends within engineering construction, meaning you will always get the most relevant training for current industry needs.
The training will be completed at the beginning of your apprenticeship, which means by the time you join your workplace full-time, you will already be competent in your role, with guidance from your mentor and team where required.
You can also complete this as a stand-alone course if you are not in a position to undertake an apprenticeship.
Training takes place at Dudley College of Technology’s Advance II centre, the only one of its kind in the UK. Cadcoe is based in the digital technologies suite where apprentices have access to the latest tech and software for CAD as well as a Fulcro BIM (Building Information Modelling) cave.
NEXT COURSE STARTS: March 2018
DURATION: up to 16 weeks
LOCATION: Advance II, Priory Road, Dudley, West Midlands, Dy1 4AD
Can I complete the training if I don’t live in Dudley?
Yes! You are only required to be in Dudley for the first 16 weeks of the apprenticeship. During this time you will travel in, or have accommodation in the area, which is arranged by and paid for by your employer. Please contact us for more information on how this works.
Throughout the course you will be working towards completing a simulated project, providing you with skills and knowledge in the following areas:
– 2D software training in Autocad
– 3D software training
– Digital construction techniques and processes included within BIM
– Roles and responsibilities within the role as a digital design engineer and industry
– Modular construction projects and light steel framing
– General arrangement and fabrication package creation
