On Friday 14 December, the Construction and Design Centre of Excellence, along with our sister companies TDS and Design4Structures, took part in the annual Christmas Jumper Day celebrations, to raise some money for the Zac Oliver Fundraising Appeal.
Zac is a 4-year-old little boy from Telford, who since May 2018, has been fighting a very rare form of Leukaemia. It’s so rare, that the life-saving treatment he needs is only available to him in the US. His family have already reached their first fundraising goal to secure the first stage of treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, however, there is an ongoing need to travel to America, and therefore cover the incurred medical, accommodation and travel costs.
Staff members based at the Telford office wore their most festive sweaters, there were flashing fairy lights and we even got our Greek Team of Design Engineers involved who wore red and a Christmas Jumper for Zac! The standout stars of our fundraising effort were So Food. The Telford catering company were kind enough to donate a free breakfast bap for the team, and in return, the money would instead go towards Zac’s fund.
A total of £200 has been raised to date and we wish Zac a full recovery. We’re behind you all the way Zac!
